Let me guess—you’ve skipped a break or two because you were “just too busy,” right? That’s fine; we all know how it feels. But here’s the thing: breaks shouldn’t be seen as luxuries but rather requirements for effective performance. Stepping away from your desktop for just 10 minutes can re-energize your mind and enhance concentration levels. It’s like pressing restart button on a computer.

By pushing ourselves harder without allowing time-off periods for our minds we only do more harm than good to ourselves. Hence breaks are essential in reducing work-related stress regardless of whether they are absorbed during a quick walk around the block or having few stretches or just grabbing some food. Never feel guilty about that; it is an investment on yourself.

5) Adopt a Healthier Lifestyle

I know this may seem obvious but the importance of a healthy life on stress levels can’t be overemphasized (pun intended!). There’s nothing like exercising, eating healthy and getting enough sleep to deal with that stress; these are the trio that do miracle for stress.
